Content Strategy & Copywriting

Customers shop around. The right words help win them.

Fewer doubts, more yeses.

The problem

Nobody knows who’s best until the job’s done. So they pick who feels safest.

When I needed a roofer for my own house in Stony Plain, I wasn’t deciding whether to hire one. The roof had to be done, so the only question was who. I looked at four, crossed off any with thin sites, few reviews or bad communication, and hired the one that felt safest.

Your customers shop the same way. Do you seem experienced? What do your reviews say? Do you communicate well? What happens if something goes wrong? Most companies answer one or two of those, if any, and leave the rest to guesswork.

Send the right signals, take the risk out of picking you, and you become the easy choice.

Sound familiar?

  • One paragraph covers every service you offer
  • Your site says “quality workmanship,” just like everyone else’s
  • You answer the same questions on every call, and your site answers none
  • You keep putting off writing about the thing you know best
  • You lose jobs to companies with worse work and slicker marketing

What I write

The words, and the plan behind them.

Writing is the second half of the job. The first is deciding what each page needs to say, which questions it answers, and which signals it leads with. Then the words get written to fit. Here’s the full range.

  • Research first into your market and the questions that come up before anyone hires.
  • A page plan, so each service gets its own page instead of sharing a bullet list. Search engines prefer this too.
  • What goes first: what each page opens with, what backs it up, and where it asks customers to contact you.
  • An About page covering the company and the person behind it, so customers know who’s visiting their property.
  • Print and sales material: brochures, flyers and leave-behinds that say what your site says.
  • Ad copy that gets the click from the right people, and not the wrong ones.
  • Headlines and buttons, the only lines most people read.
  • FAQs that settle the doubts people won’t call to ask about.
  • Service pages written from scratch, in the words your customers use.
  • Your voice, so it matches the person who shows up.

How it works

A simple process, from first call to final draft.

  • Step 1

    Your Story

We start with a conversation about you and your business. Talking about your work is the part most owners enjoy.

  • Step 2

    Research

I study your competitors, your reviews and what your customers care about, to find the signals that set you apart.

  • Step 3

    Plan

Before any writing, you see the plan: which pages, what goes on each, and in what order. Then you approve it.

  • Step 4

    Write

I write the drafts, you review, and we fine-tune together if needed. Once you’re happy, the writing is ready to use.

FAQ

Answers to common questions I get.

I’m not a writer. How much do I have to do?

Very little writing. Most of it comes from a conversation and whatever you already have: old flyers, quotes, reviews. I’ll ask for a rough About page too, since it’s the one thing most owners find easy to write. You don’t need to be a writer or a salesperson. That part’s my job.

Couldn’t I just use ChatGPT?

You could. I use it too, same as every other tool in the shop. But generating sentences was never the hard part. The hard part is knowing what your customers need to see, and what to leave out.

Isn’t writing included when you build my site?

Sharpening what you bring is. But if you bring one paragraph for all your services, sharpening only goes so far. This is for when the words need writing from scratch, or need more than a polish.

What does it cost?

Quoted per project. Writing a few service pages is a different job from a whole site with a brochure and ads to match.

How long does it take?

It depends on how much there is to write, and how quickly feedback comes back. You’ll get an estimated turnaround with the quote.

Do I get a discount if I’m already working with you?

Yes. If you’re getting a site or a plan from me, this costs less bolted on than it does on its own.

Is there anything you don’t write?

A few things. I don’t run social media accounts or write blog posts on a schedule, and I leave manuals, safety documents and legal copy to specialists. Websites are my specialty, but anything that sells your work, I’ll write.

How is this different from your branding service?

Branding sets the personality. This puts it to work on your pages, print and ads. One decides the voice, the other does the talking.
